Senator-elect Ted Cruz hosted a conference call with conservative bloggers to discuss the recent ‘fiscal cliff’ compromise bill that originated in Senate he will be serving in.
Cruz stated that he would have voted against the fiscal cliff compromise, which would have put him in the company of Senators Marco Rubio, Rand Paul and Mike Lee. He also said that it was “in President Obama’s interest to raise taxes” on all Americans and that his policies halt economic growth by “jacking up taxes, the “exploding government spending” and regulations that “stifle job-creation,” cannot be tolerated and supported.
Cruz also took a well-deserved shot at the Republican party, calling them out on their lackluster campaign messaging in last year’s general election. Cruz said that “Republicans got clobbered” and “lost the argument.” Like Rush Limbaugh and other national conservative leaders, Cruz believes that Republicans need to “stand on principle” and make the argument against the reckless agenda that is being disseminated from the Democrat party.
”Really lousy deal, if I would have been in the Senate, I would have voted no.”- Senator-elect Ted Cruz
Cruz takes the oath of office today and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of Grassroots Research for the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC).

This has to be the most disappointing election year I can remember. I’m 60 yrs old and have seen a few. The lack of getting the republicans to vote was shameful and the reasons were ridiculous. I cannot believe that the Dems are that good in relating their ideas to the people but they are and the Republicans did not convey the urgency of conservative thinking and how that would help change things for the better. It’s like most people are walking with “eyes wide shut”! We need real conservative republican congressmen with some guts to really stand up for what they know is right and stand up for the Constitution and get these liberal “socialist” out of office! I am sick of hearing that everything has to be “politically correct”, the ones that are offended are the ones that let themselves be offended.
I am from Missouri. Missouri has a state legislature which is 85% Senate Republicans and 75% Congressional Republicans. Why is this so? In 1976, Jerry Litton ran for and won the Democratic primary for the Senate. He “was” a conservative farmer from Chillicothe in the tradition of Stuart Symington and Scoop Jackson. After his primary victory, he and his entire family were killed in a tragic plane crash on the way to a victory celebration in Kansas City. I have always been suspicios. Warren Hearnes who was ethically challenged was selected to take his place instead of James Symington. John Danforth ran on the Republican slate and clobbered the unethical Hearnes. Missouri politics have been Republican ever since. The Missouri Democratic Party swung to the left and the honest voters in Missouri swung to the Republicans. We now have a pseudo conservative Democratic governor (Jay Nixon) and a shady Democratic senator (Poor Claire) who have been elected in the tradition of Jerry Litton. They are both frauds and using their position to eat away at theRepubican base by going after the young. The governor has a new education czar who is reforming the schools with his and Obama’s liberal agenda.
