Sen. Cruz Debunks Phony Assault Weapon Witch Hunt (Video)

ted cruzFreshman Senator Ted Cruz completely debunked the ‘Assault Weapon’ argument during the Senate Judiciary meeting on gun control, pointing out that a particular hunting rifle considered to be ‘legal’ under Senator Feinstein’s newly proposed  weapons ban bill would be deemed  illegal if  ”a piece of plastic” was attached to the rifle.

Cruz said that this latest gun witch hunt was all about aesthetics and then held up a plastic pistol grip explaining that if that the pistol grip was to be affixed to the hunting rifle, then that rifle would then be considered an assault weapon, regardless of the caliber ammunition it fires.

The NRA’s Wayne LaPierre also pointed out that the higher caliber ammunition used for hunting are far more powerful than the ammunition used in the now demonized AR-15 rifle and other similar makes.

I wonder when one of these guys is going to read the Second Amendment and see that government is prohibited from infringing on our Right to keep and bear arms. All of this talk is none of their business and they have absolutely no authority in this personal matter of the American people.

It’s ironic that Cruz should denounce a witch hunt. After all, he participated actively in one this afternoon:
