Former disgraced Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) Boss, Jim Greer has just plead guilty to grand theft and money laundering charges that could find the former Chairman spending up to four years behind bars. Greer’s boss at the time he committed his crimes, Governor Charlie Crist was supposed to testify in the case, but will now be spared the public scrutiny and possible embarrassment, now that an agreement has been hammered out.
Senator Marco Rubio has been at the center of this ongoing drama between the State Republican Party, Greer, and Charlie Crist since 2009, when Rubio’s Republican party issued American Express card was at the center of attention during his Senatorial race. Rubio’s credit card records were leaked to the press, bringing upon considerable embarrassment to the Senator, when personal items and services that were purchased by Rubio, were listed on the credit card statements. Rubio stated that he repaid all of the ‘non-business’ related charges made on the card.
It was rumored that Greer leaked these records to the media, and Rubio himself even accused Greer of the leak during the 2010 Senatorial race that had Rubio and Crist squared-off against one another in a highly contentious Republican primary race. Many of Rubio’s detractors were foaming at the mouth, in hopes that more dirt would come out on the Senator, if Greer’s trial were to drag on.
Rubio only comment, when asked to comment on Greer’s plea agreement, was a simple “no comment.” And why should Rubio say anything? Think about it, if they had anything on Rubio, they would have used it on him during his 2010 Senatorial race.
The state Republican Party blames Crist for selecting Greer as chairman, and Rubio himself even defended and voted for Greer’s re-election in January of 2009 for the top position within the RPOF. Rubio’s decision to support was obviously prior to Greer’s ‘colorful’ business practices coming to light.
“Today, Jim Greer, the man Charlie Crist personally picked to lead the Republican Party of Florida, admitted his guilt to five felony charges. For the past three years, Jim Greer has tried to damage the reputation of the Republican Party and its leaders, but the truth is now known that Jim Greer broke the law, stole from RPOF and our donors, and then said and did everything he could to cover up and distract attention from his crimes. Everything Jim Greer has said and done over these past few years should be considered in that light.”-RPOF
But while the party points fingers at Crist, should they also be pointed the finger at some of the Greer/Crist era hold outs still working within, or associated with the RPOF?
While there are still some past Crist/Greer sympathizers in the bunch, it would be hard to make any allegations stick, other than they were associates and employees during Greer’s reign atop the state GOP.

Finally, today Jim Greer has done something FOR the Republican Party.
I don’t know. It would probably have been helpful for the RPOF to have Charlie Crist’s testimony prior to his upcoming run for Governor on the Democrat ticket, or failing that as the Green Party candidate, or if that doesn’t work the running as candidate for the Bull Moose Party, etc.
Also, if one remembers that a big part of Greer’s early defense strategy/obfuscation was that Marco Rubio used his RPOF credit card improperly, a complete trial to jury verdict and judge’s sentencing would have clarified this for one and all.
Greer is a corruptocrat but so is Rubio, Jeb Bush’s lapdog.
Rubio is a career opportunist who doesn’t care about anyone but Marco Rubio. He is the poster boy for everything that is wrong with the corrupt Bush crime family showcased in Steve Bannon and Peter Schweizer’s documentary “Boomtown.”
Marco sold out for access to Barbara Bush’s rolodex. When corruptcrats like Ed Gillespie, Al Cardenas, Nicole Wallace, and Tokyo Rove are singing his praises you know Rubio is corruption on steroids.
Rubio should go to Hollywood if he wants to be a drama queen. Actions speak louder than words and Rubio can dish the BS as well as Obama. We need reform, not more Bush crony capitalism.
The age of Bush is over Marco. You backed the wrong horse.
DO UNTO OTHERS…need I say more!
He deserves everything he gets…and more!
