Allen West 2We reported a couple months ago the teaser that former Congressman Allen West put out regarding starting his won foundation. Now West has officially launched his Allen West Foundation 501c(4) non-profit  aimed at educating the public on “policy matters” and coaching those interested in running for public office.

Here is the official release-

Boca Raton, FL – Former United States Congressman and retired Lt. Colonel Allen West today announced the launch of The Allen West Foundation, a Section 501(c)(4) non-profit organization with the mission of educating and inspiring the next generation of conservative leaders within the minority and veteran communities nationwide.

A government truly “of the people” must be fully representative of those it governs. Both minorities and veterans are under-represented in elected office at both the state and federal levels, and the Foundation seeks to educate and motivate members of these groups to increase their civic participation and representation in government.

“From the time I first took an oath to support and defend our Constitution as a young Second Lieutenant in the United States Army, I have committed my life to our nation and its constitutional principles,” said West, “I feel both a duty and an honor to encourage others to follow a similar path.”

The Allen West Foundation will:

Host issue-based forums designed to educate participants on important public policy matters and encourage greater civic engagement.

Conduct educational seminars and provide other resources for those considering becoming more engaged in their communities or running for public office.

Advocate on behalf of minorities and veterans on critical issues facing their communities.

‘So are we back to square one? Not exactly. The Hagel confirmation fight revealed that U.S. interests matter not a whit for Israel’s most vocal supporters while the American media is gradually becoming more open to criticism of what is going on in Tel Aviv. But the Lobby still has the whip hand, able to manage what appears in most of the media while having a vice-like grip on congress. It is probably futile in the near term, but we the people should start to imitate AIPAC by letting congressmen know that there are a lot of us out here who vote and who are not too happy about the prospect of a third war in Asia against Iran. Indeed, the real test of the Israel Lobby’s power will be played out over the next nine months or so. If we do get a war with Iran then those of us who have opposed it might as well fold our cards on “let us reason together” and begin to think of civil disobedience on a serious level. It might be the only option we have remaining to turn the ship around.’

    America is no longer sovereign.

  4. I am so disappointed by this man, one who I thought was prepared to stand up to the left and Regressive establishment in his own party. However, when presented with evidence of criminal wrong doing that has national security implications, and gives us an opportunity to undo some of the heinous bills , rulings, decrees that have come from the person occupying the White House, he disdainfully declines, because he might have “political aspirations”. Does someone that we thought so clever, really not get the sense of the country and the conservatives he purports to represent? I would do almost anything (legal) to get rid of the Jackass in the White House, why does he not want to do so. Does he not realize what a hero he would be come for just trying, even if not successful, I am sure it would help him ride a wave of popularity into almost any job in politics that he chooses.
