During a sit down interview with the Shark Tank, we asked the no-nonsense Texas Governor Rick Perry if he had any future plans runs for office. Perry said in regard to running for a fourth term as Governor of Texas, “check me in June, I’m gonna make an announcement in June.” Regarding another run for President, Perry in the same breathe said that he would make another announcement “sometime later in the year about 2016.”
Perry was a favorite in 2012 before he had the infamous “Oops!” moment, but was able to rebound back. Unfortunately for him, it was just a little too late.

ugh…we need new blood to reinvigorate our party! I was hoping that no one who ran last time would try again. We have to redefine ourselves, and learn how to communicate our principles in an appealing way to the people. Our party stinks on the communication front and having same old, same old, running is not going to help us in getting the independent votes.
On the other hand, having a guy in office that knows what it takes to have the US economy on a path like Texas instead of Illinois would be a HUGE upgrade.
Republicans currently don’t have anybody waiting in line so having more candidates with successful conservative records is better than having less in the run for the nomination for President.
I don’t foresee a lack of “new blood” willing to take a shot, either.
The reason Texas’ economy is doing what it is doing because Texas has the worst benefits for its’ citizens and the worst Workman’s Commpensation coverage in the country.
It has the greatest percentage of citizens with no health insurance.

The difference is, Perry is a “constitutionalist.” The party has drifted into limbo, primarily because it has been taken over by “neo-cons.” Perry attracts voters that Mitt Romney couldn’t attract: Evangelicals, “blue collar” Democrats and Hispanics. Republicans must come to grips with the fact that the party has become “a party of Southerners and Westerners.” It is lunacy to even consider another candidate from a “blue state!” There may be a fight between Jeb Bush and Rick Perry. If so, I would put my money on Perry. Especially if Marco Rubio is his running mate. For those who are ready to put Marco in the White House, he might be a better option than Bush and certainly Chris Cristie. But he lacks Executive experience. As a 45-year old Vice President, he would be in perfect position to move into the Presidency in 2024! Rubio is twenty years younger than Perry. Rick and Marco are close ideologically. Perry has the report card. Texas economy speaks for itself. Like Rubio, Perry comes from a modest background. Americans are ready for the son of a Tenant Farmer and a Bartender. For those who want to lump Perry into the traditional Republican “Ivy League Hopper,” think again! He is an “Aggie,” a Texas A & M grad. And, unlike the others, he flew F-130′s in the Air Force. Military experience is nothing to sneeze at! More than anything, Perry knows what it’s like to run a large diverse state. Texas’ economy is actually 30% larger than Austrailia’s! This past year, we got hung up on debating skills. Perry got into the race late. He had a medical procedure that inhibited him greatly in the critical fall 2011 weeks. This time he will be ready.

Perry for President? Lesee….a former cheerleader, door-to-door salesman, Bible thumper, State Chairman for Al Gore, and currect front man for Texas businessmen who can’t even remember what Departments he might eliminate if elected President?? Great potential for being the Charlie Crist of Texas!
What ever happened to “real Republicans”? Looks like we’re an endandered species! (For that matter, what ever happened to “real Democrats? They may be extinct!)
We’ve got a very good talker in office now. Manned the bench on his high school basketball team. Harvard man, too. Not working out too good.
Perry blew it in the debate with his “oops” moment but since he’s said he’d eliminate the same bunch of departments for years, it’s probably safe to assume he’d try to eliminate them in office.
By any objective measure, the state of Texas under his leadership has done far better than the country has under Barack Obama’s leadership.
