ObamaCare Propaganda Machine Spreads its Tentacles

July 29, 2010 Commentary No Comments

Here’s an interesting webcast event that has just been brought to our attention, one that is being conducted by the National League of Cities (NLC), held in conjunction with giant international law firm DLA Piper.  More often than not, events like these slip under the radar screen, as they are not usually advertised to the public directly through the media, only through corporate communication channels. The details to this webcast event are below.

Rest assured the NLC will be informing the webcast audience about the blessings of government-run healthcare and how it will supposedly take a huge burden off of the cities and municipalities that the webcast is targeted towards. These local government leaders will then have their marching orders to convince their employees of the wonders of ObamaCare, and on and on it goes. And lo and behold- look who’s one the speakers on the guest panel- none other than noted tax cheat and failed Obama Cabinet pick Tom “Puff” Daschle. Coincidence?  Hardly.

Rick Scott to Forgo Salary if Elected Governor (VIDEO)

July 23, 2010 Commentary 5 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

Yesterday, Gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott told the Shark Tank  that he would forgo his Governor’s salary if elected Governor of  Florida. Will Bill McCollum and Alex Sink do the same?  Scott is running on a  less government/lower taxes platform, so this is first budget cut- $133,000 taxpayer dollars saved. Scott also weighs in on being the de-facto head of the state GOP if he were elected Governor. … Continue Reading

Rick Scott Bus Tour Day 1: Arroz Con Pollo, Cigars and Cortaditos (VIDEO)

July 22, 2010 Commentary 3 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

Gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott kicked off his bus tour across the state at the Miami landmark Versailles Restaurant in Little Havana. Scott’s bus was ‘wrapped’ with Rick’s smiling mug and his “Let’s Get to Work” slogan all over it. One interesting tidbit that has not been reported in other media accounts is that several Bill McCollum supporters were also in attendance at the campaign’s first bus stop- perhaps not out of sheer coincidence. Might Scott have to rename this the “bus stalking-tour”, perhaps? Hmmm….  … Continue Reading

Crist’s Special Session Slammed by Rubio and Bovo

July 19, 2010 Commentary 7 Comments

In an act of pure political theater, Governor Charlie Crist (D) has called a Special Session of the Florida State Legislature to address the BP Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  The primary reason why Crist claims he has called this Special Session is to get the Legislature to pass a law that would ban offshore oil drilling off Florida’s coast– even though the law as it presently stands does just that. … Continue Reading

July 12, 2010 Commentary 18 Comments

Regular readers of the Tank know that we have pulled no punches towards soon-to-be Democrat Governor Charlie Crist, which is why we’re posting Senator George LeMieux’s endorsement of Marco Rubio.  It is well known that LeMieux was Crist’s former confidant, advisor, and BFF for years, and that he aggressively campaigned for the ‘tanned man’ as soon as Crist declared his candidacy for Senate.  (VIDEO) … Continue Reading

Congressional Candidate Escorted Out Of Event by Police (VIDEO)

July 8, 2010 Commentary 46 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

The Candidate Forum held at the monthly Miami GOP Executive Committee meeting began with a thud and ended with a bang.  All of the candidates, running for local, state and federal seats, were invited to the meeting and allowed to speak for 2 minutes, and the candidates’ addresses were being timed. The highly anticipated and publicized confrontation between Florida Congressional District 25 candidates, Miami GOP boss David Rivera and Paul Crespo did not disappoint, if you were hoping for fireworks.  As expected, Crespo layed into Rivera with allegations that Rivera had abused his power as poobah of the local party he heads. (VIDEO)

FL CD-19 Candidate Joe Budd Interview

July 7, 2010 Commentary 25 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

Florida’s Congressional District 19 has seen alot of action over the past year. Just this past April, we saw a special election take place to fill the seat vacated by the Democrat Congressman from Maryland, Robert Wexler.  The GOP primary in February turned out to be nothing less than a trainwreck disaster with (3) Republican candidates negatively attacking one another in what became a very divisive primary.  Candidate Joe Budd narrowly lost the GOP nomination and soon thereafter vowed to run against Ted Deutch, the Democrat who went on to win the  Special Election. … Continue Reading
