Ron Klein’s Not-So-Fine Business Dealings Coming Under Scrutiny

June 15, 2010 Uncategorized 3 Comments

by Javier Manjarres
As reported in the Palm Beach Post, attorney Michael Masanoff is being accused of trying to steal tens of millions of dollars in a sale of a problematic cemetery in Boca Raton that the two widows own:As if things couldn’t get any worse for Congressman Ron Klein (D-FL), they have. Congressman Klein, who has been out-fundraised and out-campaigned by his Republican opponent Allen West in their race for Congress thus far, is now being implicated in a lawsuit in which two wealthy widows were targeted for investment fraud.   … Continue Reading

RNC Secretary Sharon Day Lays into Crist and Chairman Bozo

June 4, 2010 Uncategorized 12 Comments

RNC Secretary and Shark Tank fan Sharon Day has released a well written and lovable letter directed at former Republican Governor Charlie Crist (I) and former RPOF boss and newly jailed thug, Chairman Bozo himself, Jim Greer.  The Governor and many of his little minions across the state, especially in Broward, knew very well what Jailbird Jim was doing with the RPOF monies that are in question today. What the Shark Tank would like to know is, will Jailbird Jim start chirping away and give up more of his ‘peeps’? And, how far up the the ladder (one rung, perhaps?) will the investigation into this corruption take us?

Read her note below the fold.

LOWRY CAMP RESPONDS TO THE SHARK TANK

May 21, 2010 Uncategorized 15 Comments

The Robert Lowry for Congress Campaign has just issued a statement in response to the earlier  Shark Tank post, Heritage Foundation President Takes Issue with Robert Lowry’s Claims. For those of you that do not know about the discourse that has been going on, this article stems back to the first District 20 Congressional debate between Karen Harrington, Robert Lowry and Donna Milo(VIDEOS:GOP Debate: Wasserman-Schultz, Taxes, and Herpes on the Menu). It is the policy of the Shark Tank to only post statements that are accurate and corroborated from the interested parties.

Here is the Lowry press release:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

“On April 21st 2010, Robert Lowry attended a think tank symposium offered by the Atlas organization regarding “Beating back Socialism in the US and Abroad”.  That one day event concluded with an awards dinner at which Robert Lowry was introduced to Dr. Edwin Feulner.  Mr. Lowry enjoyed an “off the cuff”, one-on-one conversation with Dr. Feulner regarding the future of the Republican Party, and Dr. Feulner’s personal perspective on Robert’s race.  And, for the record, neither Dr. Feulner nor The Heritage Foundation endorses any candidate for public office.”At no time has the Lowry Campaign claimed, in writing or in speech, an endorsement by Dr. Ed Feulner or The Heritage Foundation. The attached photo was sent to the Lowry Campaign by those that sponsored and organized that inspiring event.”

XXX

The Lowry Campaign states that Robert Lowry was introduced to Heritage Foundation President Dr. Edwin Feulner at a dinner and had an “off the cuff”, “one-on-one conversation” with Dr. Feulner. A picture taken of Dr. Feulner and Robert Lowry is also included in the statement, presumably at the event.

This statement answers several questions that have hung over the campaign for the past 4 days. However, it still leaves some other questions unanswered.

Why did Mr. Lowry state the following ,” they suspect that 130 seats will actually pass into Republican hands”?

The Heritage Foundation sent this statement to the Shark Tank:
“Dr. Feulner has never forecast how many seats the GOP might win in the November elections.  He believes that a substantial number of additional conservatives will be elected this fall.”

The Lowry campaign also stated that they did not claim an endorsement from Dr. Feulner or the Heritage Foundation. This is an accurate statement from the campaign. However, no one has accused the Lowry campaign of promoting an endorsement from either Dr. Feulner or the Heritage Foundation.

The Heritage Foundation made it a point to state that they did not endorse candidates, and I only speculate this because of candidates using the Heritage Foundation’s name, like other prominent politicos and organizations, to try to win favor with voters by name-dropping.

Here is the Heritage Foundation’s statement from the last article:

And, for the record, neither Dr. Feulner nor The Heritage Foundation endorses any candidate for public office.”

Marco Rubio: “The Federal Government needs to seal the border.”

May 19, 2010 Uncategorized 13 Comments

With the controversy over the Arizona immigration bill still looming large, U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio has been right smack in the middle of the mess, as some of the statements he initially made about the bill that rattled many of his supporters who clearly favor of the bill.  Rubio has been in the media crosshairs regarding these statements, and he has subsequently clarified his position about the bill, stating his support for the bill and supporting Arizona’s right to pass such a law if they deemed fit to do so.

I caught up with Rubio yesterday at a campaign event headlined with former Governor Jeb Bush in Miami, and Rubio offered me some additional thoughts about the new Arizona immigration law:

Dennis Baxley receives Jeb Bush Endorsement, Rubio gets one too.

Governor Jeb Bush has finally come out and endorsed his protege Marco Rubio in the Florida U.S. Senate race. This is the most highly anticipated announcment, considered by many to be a game-changing endorsement. The two will start campaigning this Friday in Pasco County at a local Lincoln Day event. You can rest assured that The Shark Tank will be lurking around the Tampa Bay area in search of a scoop.

Governor Jeb Bush also endorsed all around good guy Dennis Baxley, who is running in Florida State House District 24.

JEB BUSH BACKS BAXLEY

OCALA, Fla. — Today, the Dennis Baxley Campaign announced the endorsement of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush. The endorsement comes on the heels of a $34,000 fundraising quarter and the endorsement of numerous other GOP leaders.

“Dennis Baxley is a thoughtful and committed conservative,” said Governor Bush. “Baxley’s principles define his politics, and his word is his bond. Dennis is the kind of ethical leader Floridians can count on.”

Baxley, who is the sole Republican in the race, is set to face Democrat Michael Hageloh in November’s general election.

“Governor Bush is a great friend to Florida and a mentor to those of us in public service,” said Baxley. “It is the highest of honors to have his endorsement.”

Governor Bush and Representative Baxley served Florida together from 2000 until 2006 when Bush’s term as Governor expired. Baxley later served as Speaker Pro Tem of the Florida House of Representatives.

Conservative GOP Transgender takes aim at Wasserman-Schultz

The deadline for both federal and state candidates to qualify in order to be placed on the ballot for the November elections has come and gone.  In Florida’s Congressional District 20, there were two Republican candidates did not qualify, but three others did. One of the candidates that qualified in FL-20 is businesswoman Donna E. Milo. Milo has recently attracted national attention because of the fact that she is transgendered and also happens to be is running for federal office.  Her announcement is nothing less than courageous and should be applauded. Donna Milo was born in Cuba and like most, escaped the island in search of a better life her in the United States. As an avid supporter of the 2nd Amendment and a gun owner herself, Donna Milo has lived in the congressional district for over 35 years and seems to have  her hand on the pulse of the District and its constituents. She is also a staunch pro-life candidate who has consistently taken that position. I met up with Milo yesterday at Miami City Hall where she is the Vice Chair of the City of Miami Planning Advisory Board.

Harrington Qualifies in FL-20 Congressional Race

April 29, 2010 Uncategorized No Comments

To no one’s surprise, Congressional candidate Karen Harrington (FL-20) qualified for the Republican ballot, the winner of the primary will face Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz this November.  Harrington will face a contested primary where she will compete for the GOP nomination against Robert Lowry, Donna Milo(Transgender candidate) and Brian Reilly.  Lowry has also announced that he will also be submitting his qualifying paper work.  Both candidates Milo and Reilly have already qualified and are poised to make a strong run in the primary.  There is no clear “frontrunner” in the race, even though the Lowry Campaign has made the claim that they are the true frontrunners.   However, this claim is a bit odd considering the fact that Lowry has only reported a mere $158 cash on hand with the Federal Elections Committee (FEC) as of April 1, 2010. Check out Robert Lowry’s FEC Report here.

Harrington’s campaign has kept a relatively low profile and seems to be making strides throughout the district with her grassroots orientated campaign.

Turmoil at the Broward GOP, Again

April 28, 2010 Uncategorized 14 Comments

The highly anticipated fireworks at Monday night’s Broward Republican Executive Committee started off with a bang, but ended with a dud. The first order of business was the Chairman and Vice Chairman’s election to the Committee.  Many in the room, including myself, have been doubtful about how fairly the election would be conducted. That doubt turned out  to be rightly justified during the process of electing the new Chairman, when now former Chairman Chip LaMarca did not acknowledge a motion from floor to table the election.  The motion in question was then seconded, and LaMarca immediately addressed another motion rather than dealing with the first motion to table the election. The motion to table the election was within the rules, so it is a mystery as to why it was ignored. Be that as it may, the motion to table the election was recinded by the member who called for it in the first place. After about 10-15 minutes of bickering … Continue Reading
