July 28, 2010 Florida Review 2 Comments

Join Marco in Ft. Lauderdale at this Reclaim America Forum on the economy and government spending with special guest House Republican Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA). As the Republican Whip in Congress, Cantor led the fight against the wasteful stimulus bill, ObamaCare and cap-and-trade. Today, Cantor is leading the charge to cut spending in Washington with his successful YouCut initiative that is mobilizing Americans all across our country to add their voice for the call to end wasteful government programs. … Continue Reading

Senator George LeMieux- You Can Take Him to the Bank

July 25, 2010 Florida Review 7 Comments

Regular readers of the Shark Tank know that we have been and continue to remain completely opposed to every last bullet point of the Obama agenda.  In light of the damage that Obama and his rubberstamp Congress have already perpetrated against our country, we are especially opposed to the enactment of any further legislation in what remains of the 111th Congress.

By now, Republicans in Congress should be under no illusions as to the serious threat Obama poses– this administration’s uncheceked spending, powergrabs, bailouts, apppointments, corruption, and disregard for the rule of law have literally placed our national security, sovereignty, prosperity, and our rights in serious jeopardy, and Republicans should be using all available means at their disposal to thwart any further legislative victories by this administration.

Marco Rubio Links Obama and Crist – ‘The People’ (VIDEO)

July 24, 2010 Florida Review 1 Comment

by Javier Manjarres

In my opinion, the new Rubio campaign commercial below is by far his best one this election cycle. Governor Crist is now supportive of Obamacare, even though most Americans do not support it.  Rubio makes the case that Crist is completely in lockstep with  Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the Obama Administration. Of course, I would hate to pour some salt on Charlie’s wound by reminding everyone that his BFF Senator George LeMieux recently endorsed Rubio instead of him.(sarcasm) … Continue Reading

Senator LeMieux Endorses Rubio and Discusses Victory Strategies (VIDEO)

July 12, 2010 Commentary 18 Comments

Regular readers of the Tank know that we have pulled no punches towards soon-to-be Democrat Governor Charlie Crist, which is why we’re posting Senator George LeMieux’s endorsement of Marco Rubio.  It is well known that LeMieux was Crist’s former confidant, advisor, and BFF for years, and that he aggressively campaigned for the ‘tanned man’ as soon as Crist declared his candidacy for Senate.  (VIDEO) … Continue Reading

Rubio Goes Silent While Crist Mugs for the Media

From virtually the beginning of the BP oil rig disaster that occurred back in April, soon-to-be Democrat Governor Charlie Crist has wisely gone about heightening his visibility through his accrual of substantial amounts of earned media.  And that is to be expected, simply by virtue of the fact that he is the Governor of a Gulf Coast state that is impacted by the disaster.  However, it should also be anticipated by Crist’s opponents in the race for U.S. Senate that he would maximize this opportunity to heighten his profile and promote his campaign for Senate.  And in response to Crist’s tactical maneuver, you would expect that his Senate opponents would be prepared to offer sharp criticisms of his performance- whether it’s for his lack of leadership, misjudgments, or mistakes, whenever they might occur.

Rubio -”Obama’s Response to the Oil Spill Has Shown a Lack of Competence” (VIDEO)

June 25, 2010 Florida Review 40 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

On the heels of Senator George LeMieux’s relevation to the Shark Tank about President Obama’s derelict response to the BP oil spill, The Shark Tank caught up with U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio as he swam into the Tank’s territorial waters in Fort Lauderdale.  Like Senator LeMieux, Rubio criticized ‘the Messiah’ for his tepid response to the spill in the Gulf, stating that the  ”the response has been a catastrophe- a disaster equal to the spill itself.”  Rubio is stepping up his criticism of President Obama for his startling inaction to this crisis – a response that many people feel is intentionally negligent because almost every aspect of the disaster response is being hindered by agencies of the federal government- from the deployment of naval assets to the creation of sand berms.  Rubio also smacked down former Republican Governor Charlie Crist for being “content” with the Obama Administration’ response to the oil spill: (VIDEO)

Senator LeMieux Pans Obama’s Oil Spill Clean-Up Efforts(VIDEO)

This past weekend the Republican Party of Florida(RPOF) held its quarterly meeting in Tampa, Florida.  I was able to speak to several prominent GOP politicos at the meeting to discuss the issues that are  affecting the state of Florida as well as their political aspirations and/or their present campaigns. One of the big poobahs at the quarterly meeting was Senator George LeMieux.  Senator LeMieux always jumps at the chance of putting on his swim trunks and jumping into the Shark Tank- he is an avid reader of the Tank and will be receiving a custom pair of Sharkie swim shorts.  Senator, they are on the way!  I couldn’t help but ask Senator LeMieux if he was going to run for office in 2012, but unfortunately, he did not give me a direct answer to the question.   Rest assured, Sharkie will keep his shark fin pointed straight at the good Senator in the future. The Real Charlie Crist Comes Out of the Closet

May 18, 2010 Commentary 11 Comments

Long time observers of Governor Charlie Crist knew that it was not a matter of ‘if”, but when.  Crist has finally shed whatever remained of his “Ronald Reagan” conservative clothing and has put on the hot liberal pant suit that we always knew fit him like a glove.  Crist has given his full-throated support of uber-liberal U.S. Supreme Court judge nominee, Elena Kagan. By exclaiming that he supports Kagan “a lot… I think she’d do a great job, ” Crist has clearly shed his inhibitions and come out of the closet, never to return again to his former ways.  As Kagan’s record is brought out of mothballs, we have learned that she has strong reservations about upholding 2nd Amendment- does this mean Charlie also getting soft on his much touted Pro-Gun position too?  More likely, he never even bothered to vet Kagan at all, and is support of her is once again based on nothing more than pure political calculation.

Let’s also remember how Crist opposed Judge Sonya Sotomayor when it was still cool for Republicans to do so last year.  You have to wonder if Crist really supported Sotomayor all along, but publicly opposed her because it would not sit well with his then Republican base.  Charlie would do something like that, you say?  Of course Charlie Chameleon would, he’s made a career as calculating opportunist who will go wherever the political wind blows.

Here’s a little list of Charlie Chameleon’s flip-flops-

Flip #1-He said he would not run as an Independent-would only run as a Republican.

Here is Charlie’s quote when he was asked at the Fox News debate by Chris Wallace if he would run as an Independent. I’m running as a Republican. I’m very proud to be from the party of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, others that really have stood up for our party, like Ronald Reagan. This is a great party. It has a great future. We have a great opportunity to win in November. It’s important that we put a candidate up that can win in November”

Flip #2-Now Charlie is against off-shore oil drilling, before he was for it, which came after he was originally against it.

Flip # 3- Twice told ex-Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani that he would support him in his Presidential bid. Crist then flipped Giuliani the bird and endorsed Senator John McCain instead.

Flip # 4-Pledged not to raise taxes, but then raised the cigarette tax. Stating that the reason he signed off on the tax hike was to bring awareness to the health issues associated with smoking-not that the fact that the tax raised revenue to help balance the state budget.

Flip # 5- Charlie has swayed to and fro throughout his career on the abortion issue, choosing to campaign one way, and then govern in  another. Crist’s latest position will be an attempt to court Democrat voters and highlight his Pro-choice credentials.  Crist recently said that there is “probably not a whole lot” that would convince him to sign House Bill 1143, which he has yet to receive from the state legislature.

Stay tuned for more Charlie Chameleon flip-flops as our fickle friend dances in the summer wind…

The Democrats’ Great White (Tanned?) Hope- Charlie Crist

May 11, 2010 Commentary 13 Comments

The plot continues to thicken in the U.S. Senate race as Independent/Democrat Governor Charlie ‘The Chuckster” Crist has been sending out S.O.S. signals in all directions to anyone still listening in a last-ditch attempt to save his sinking campaign.   And it appears that there are big shots in the Democrat Party who are more than just a little bit interested in resuscitating Charlie’s failed bid for the Republican nomination. Recall last year when Charlie consummated his love affair with Democrat President Obama when he endorsed BHO’s failed ‘Porkulus plan” with a giant man-hug for the ages in Fort Myers, Florida.

Since then, Crist’s  popularity has plummeted due to several factors- his shiftiness and a lack of coherent political philosophy, the failure of the aforementioned Stimulus plan, and then culminated by the ultimate act of betrayal towards the Party which made and propelled his career in politics.  Combine these factors with the rising unemployment rate in Florida and his broken promise to not raise taxes, and you have Crist’s campaign drifting down that proverbial excrement creek.

Fmr. Congressman Clay Shaw- “I certainly would not support Charlie…”

April 17, 2010 Commentary 7 Comments

I caught up with Former Congressman E. Clay Shaw at an Allen West for Congress event and asked him if he would support  Governor Crist  over Marco Rubio, if Crist were to run as an Independent.  Remember, Congressman Shaw is a long time supporter of Governor Crist, and he was on the Governor’s  short list of potential appointees to the U.S. Senate seat that was vacated by Senator Martinez . As we all know, Crist somewhat dubiously appointed his long time friend and advisor George LeMieux to the position.
