Karen Harrington,GOP Congressional Candidate in District 20, is upstaging her opponents by releasing this attack Ad against Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D). Harrington is considered to be the frontrunner in the GOP race over Donna Milo and disgraced candidate Robert Lowry. This past FEC reporting cycle shows Harrington out raising her opponents by a margin of 4 to 1. Since Brian Reilly dropped out of the GOP primary in this race, Harrington has has taken the reigns and is out in front. Donna Milo of North Miami, who by all accounts, won the first debate held in this GOP

Congressional candidate Karen Harrington is running against Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz in Florida’s 20th Congressional District.  I caught up with Harrington at a recent campaign event and asked for her thoughts about the recent “shakedown” of an unsuspecting college student by Congressman Bob Etheridge, and what action Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz should take in response to her colleague’s  thug-like behavior.  Watch the video here: … Continue Reading

LOWRY CAMP RESPONDS TO THE SHARK TANK

May 21, 2010 Uncategorized 15 Comments

The Robert Lowry for Congress Campaign has just issued a statement in response to the earlier  Shark Tank post, Heritage Foundation President Takes Issue with Robert Lowry’s Claims. For those of you that do not know about the discourse that has been going on, this article stems back to the first District 20 Congressional debate between Karen Harrington, Robert Lowry and Donna Milo(VIDEOS:GOP Debate: Wasserman-Schultz, Taxes, and Herpes on the Menu). It is the policy of the Shark Tank to only post statements that are accurate and corroborated from the interested parties.

Here is the Lowry press release:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

“On April 21st 2010, Robert Lowry attended a think tank symposium offered by the Atlas organization regarding “Beating back Socialism in the US and Abroad”.  That one day event concluded with an awards dinner at which Robert Lowry was introduced to Dr. Edwin Feulner.  Mr. Lowry enjoyed an “off the cuff”, one-on-one conversation with Dr. Feulner regarding the future of the Republican Party, and Dr. Feulner’s personal perspective on Robert’s race.  And, for the record, neither Dr. Feulner nor The Heritage Foundation endorses any candidate for public office.”At no time has the Lowry Campaign claimed, in writing or in speech, an endorsement by Dr. Ed Feulner or The Heritage Foundation. The attached photo was sent to the Lowry Campaign by those that sponsored and organized that inspiring event.”

The Lowry Campaign states that Robert Lowry was introduced to Heritage Foundation President Dr. Edwin Feulner at a dinner and had an “off the cuff”, “one-on-one conversation” with Dr. Feulner. A picture taken of Dr. Feulner and Robert Lowry is also included in the statement, presumably at the event.

This statement answers several questions that have hung over the campaign for the past 4 days. However, it still leaves some other questions unanswered.

Why did Mr. Lowry state the following ,” they suspect that 130 seats will actually pass into Republican hands”?

The Heritage Foundation sent this statement to the Shark Tank:
“Dr. Feulner has never forecast how many seats the GOP might win in the November elections.  He believes that a substantial number of additional conservatives will be elected this fall.”

The Lowry campaign also stated that they did not claim an endorsement from Dr. Feulner or the Heritage Foundation. This is an accurate statement from the campaign. However, no one has accused the Lowry campaign of promoting an endorsement from either Dr. Feulner or the Heritage Foundation.

The Heritage Foundation made it a point to state that they did not endorse candidates, and I only speculate this because of candidates using the Heritage Foundation’s name, like other prominent politicos and organizations, to try to win favor with voters by name-dropping.

Here is the Heritage Foundation’s statement from the last article:

And, for the record, neither Dr. Feulner nor The Heritage Foundation endorses any candidate for public office.”

Heritage Foundation President Takes Issue with Robert Lowry’s Claims

Last week’s Congressional Debate(VIDEOS:GOP Debate: Wasserman-Schultz, Taxes, and Herpes on the Menu) for the Republican nomination in Florida’s District 20 continues to be shrouded in controversy as the respective campaigns take a closer look some of the remarks made during the debate by each of the candidates.

One such comment that is coming under closer scrutiny comes from Robert Lowry, who made a claim that he had sat down the previous week with Heritage Foundation’s President Dr. Edward Feulner.  According to Lowry, he and Dr. Feulner discussed details with him about how many congressional seats the GOP could win, and Dr. Feulner gave his campaign encouragement as to how it was progressing.  See the video of the Lowry claim here: … Continue Reading

The highly anticipated debate between Republican candidates Donna Milo, Karen Harrington and Robert Lowry in Florida’s 20th Congressional District was held in front of a couple of hundred supporters and interested voters that showed up to see the candidates debate for the first time.  Credit goes to the two GOP clubs – the Davie Cooper City GOP and the Southwest Broward GOP Organization who sponsored the event and need to be acknowledged for the high level of organization, preparation and professionalism they displayed in putting this event together.

The room had supporters from all three of the campaigns that participated in the debate. Fortunately, fears of unruliness that were rumored in the run up to the debate were disproven and the event was held without any incident.  The debate kicked off as the candidates introduced themselves and stated their reasons for running for Congress.

FL CD 20 GOP candidates to debate

May 7, 2010 Commentary 2 Comments

Most of you did not know this but, the Davie/Cooper City Republican Club and the Southwest Broward Republican Organization (SWBRO) are hosting a debate between the (3) Republican candidates that qualified to run in Florida’s Congressional District 20. The Debate will be held on Thursday, May 13th at 7pm.  This debate is crucial in helping to  nominate the Republican candidate that will face off against Democrat Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz in this November’s General election. The candidates participating in the debate next week are Karen Harrington, Robert Lowry and Donna Milo.

The primary election is on August 24, and the campaigns are out getting in front of different groups and potential voters, but none of the three candidates have yet to take the lead and position themselves as the favorite to win the race.

Since there is not a clear cut frontrunner in this Congressional race, it will be interesting to see if the questions posed to the candidates are answered directly, or if they are spun and not answered at all.

Conservative GOP Transgender takes aim at Wasserman-Schultz

The deadline for both federal and state candidates to qualify in order to be placed on the ballot for the November elections has come and gone.  In Florida’s Congressional District 20, there were two Republican candidates did not qualify, but three others did. One of the candidates that qualified in FL-20 is businesswoman Donna E. Milo. Milo has recently attracted national attention because of the fact that she is transgendered and also happens to be is running for federal office.  Her announcement is nothing less than courageous and should be applauded. Donna Milo was born in Cuba and like most, escaped the island in search of a better life her in the United States. As an avid supporter of the 2nd Amendment and a gun owner herself, Donna Milo has lived in the congressional district for over 35 years and seems to have  her hand on the pulse of the District and its constituents. She is also a staunch pro-life candidate who has consistently taken that position. I met up with Milo yesterday at Miami City Hall where she is the Vice Chair of the City of Miami Planning Advisory Board.

Wasserman-Schultz wields her iron fist

April 6, 2010 Uncategorized 12 Comments

On Monday night, the Shark Tank lurked throughout the murky halls of the Fort Lauderdale City Hall to hear beloved Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz speak to dozens of people at a tightly controlled town hall meeting she orchestrated to address Obamacare and the Stimulus plan.
Congresswoman Shultz’s tightly controlled meeting was managed just like her meetings in Washington,D.C.- with an iron fist.  To sum up the meeting in nutshell, it was the same liberal Democrat talking points that we’ve heard a thousand times.  I’ll give her a smidge of credit for sticking to her guns on these ridiculous spending bills. The Congresswoman was greeted by hundreds of angry demonstrators holding anti-Obamacare signs and waiving American flags.
In attendance were three of the Republican candidates that hope to face her in this November’s elections- Karen Harrington, Robert Lowry, and Brian Reilly. Right before the town hall meeting, the Lowry for Congress campaign released the following video blasting DWS.
