Lowry’s Compromised Campaign Nets a Bizarre Endorsement

August 9, 2010 Florida Review 10 Comments

Last week, we exposed FL CD 20 GOP Congressional candidate Robert Lowry’s not-so-congressional candidacy by documenting his laundry list of Federal Election Commission violations, as well as the poor judgment he showed when he scribbled the initials ‘DWS’ on a target that he shot at, and later lied about.  More questions are coming out about Lowry candidacy, one of which is- just who is behind the campaign itself?  We profiled several of the keys players within the campaign in our last posting, (Tea Party Candidate Robert Lowry). … Continue Reading

CD-20 Debate – And now, a word about our sponsors…

The much anticipated second debate between the GOP primary candidates in Congressional District 20 turned out to be less interesting an affair than the hijinks that were going on behind the scenes. Unfortunately, before the debate even began, the Stalinist tactics of the Broward GOP were already in play at the debate’s venue. The debate itself was co-sponsored by the Southwest Broward, Davie-Cooper City and the Greater Hollywood GOP clubs, different from the first debate was sponsored  by the Davie-Cooper City Republican club and the Southwest Broward Clubs. … Continue Reading

Tea Party Candidate Robert Lowry- Does He Have the Character for Congress?

August 3, 2010 Florida Review 37 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

The Tea Party movement began to sweep across the nation almost immediately after President Obama took office and started aggressively pushing his socialist agenda.  The Tea Party movement itself is a true grassroots movement borne out the American spirit of freedom, resistance to tyranny and expanding government, and American exceptionalism.

The August 24th GOP primary election in Florida’s Congressional District 20 could very well dictate and negatively define many Congressional and Senatorial races around the country if the Democrat political machine is able to label Republican candidates as unhinged, bible thumping, gun-wielding  and radical right-winged tea party candidates. … Continue Reading

Latest Poll Numbers for McCollum Show Him Bleeding Support

July 30, 2010 Florida Review 31 Comments

The Florida Gubernatorial primary race between Attorney General Bill McCollum and Businessman Rick Scott is entering its final leg, with the winner to face Democrat Alex Sink. The negative ads run by both campaigns have substantially influenced the public’s opinion of the two candidates, and the recent opinion polls clearly demonstrate that. The Scott campaign says that their ads are placed in response to the attack ads first placed by the McCollum campaign, and vice versa. … Continue Reading

Central Florida Tea Party leader James “Jake” Barnes who filed ethics complaints against Florida House Democratic leader Ron Saunders only months ago has turned his sites on fellow Tea party activists who he says have taken financial support from notorious Sugar barons Alfie and Pepe Fanjul in return for opposition to a Everglades land sale to the state by a corporate rival. … Continue Reading

Karen Harrington,GOP Congressional Candidate in District 20, is upstaging her opponents by releasing this attack Ad against Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D). Harrington is considered to be the frontrunner in the GOP race over Donna Milo and disgraced candidate Robert Lowry. This past FEC reporting cycle shows Harrington out raising her opponents by a margin of 4 to 1. Since Brian Reilly dropped out of the GOP primary in this race, Harrington has has taken the reigns and is out in front. Donna Milo of North Miami, who by all accounts, won the first debate held in this GOP

Harrington Hammers Congressional Thuggery- “We are no better than Stalin’s Russia”

June 17, 2010 Florida Review 5 Comments

Congressional candidate Karen Harrington is running against Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz in Florida’s 20th Congressional District.  I caught up with Harrington at a recent campaign event and asked for her thoughts about the recent “shakedown” of an unsuspecting college student by Congressman Bob Etheridge, and what action Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz should take in response to her colleague’s  thug-like behavior.  Watch the video here: … Continue Reading

LOWRY CAMP RESPONDS TO THE SHARK TANK

May 21, 2010 Uncategorized 15 Comments

The Robert Lowry for Congress Campaign has just issued a statement in response to the earlier  Shark Tank post, Heritage Foundation President Takes Issue with Robert Lowry’s Claims. For those of you that do not know about the discourse that has been going on, this article stems back to the first District 20 Congressional debate between Karen Harrington, Robert Lowry and Donna Milo(VIDEOS:GOP Debate: Wasserman-Schultz, Taxes, and Herpes on the Menu). It is the policy of the Shark Tank to only post statements that are accurate and corroborated from the interested parties.

Here is the Lowry press release:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

“On April 21st 2010, Robert Lowry attended a think tank symposium offered by the Atlas organization regarding “Beating back Socialism in the US and Abroad”.  That one day event concluded with an awards dinner at which Robert Lowry was introduced to Dr. Edwin Feulner.  Mr. Lowry enjoyed an “off the cuff”, one-on-one conversation with Dr. Feulner regarding the future of the Republican Party, and Dr. Feulner’s personal perspective on Robert’s race.  And, for the record, neither Dr. Feulner nor The Heritage Foundation endorses any candidate for public office.”At no time has the Lowry Campaign claimed, in writing or in speech, an endorsement by Dr. Ed Feulner or The Heritage Foundation. The attached photo was sent to the Lowry Campaign by those that sponsored and organized that inspiring event.”

The Lowry Campaign states that Robert Lowry was introduced to Heritage Foundation President Dr. Edwin Feulner at a dinner and had an “off the cuff”, “one-on-one conversation” with Dr. Feulner. A picture taken of Dr. Feulner and Robert Lowry is also included in the statement, presumably at the event.

This statement answers several questions that have hung over the campaign for the past 4 days. However, it still leaves some other questions unanswered.

Why did Mr. Lowry state the following ,” they suspect that 130 seats will actually pass into Republican hands”?

The Heritage Foundation sent this statement to the Shark Tank:
“Dr. Feulner has never forecast how many seats the GOP might win in the November elections.  He believes that a substantial number of additional conservatives will be elected this fall.”

The Lowry campaign also stated that they did not claim an endorsement from Dr. Feulner or the Heritage Foundation. This is an accurate statement from the campaign. However, no one has accused the Lowry campaign of promoting an endorsement from either Dr. Feulner or the Heritage Foundation.

The Heritage Foundation made it a point to state that they did not endorse candidates, and I only speculate this because of candidates using the Heritage Foundation’s name, like other prominent politicos and organizations, to try to win favor with voters by name-dropping.

Here is the Heritage Foundation’s statement from the last article:

And, for the record, neither Dr. Feulner nor The Heritage Foundation endorses any candidate for public office.”
