DC Work For Us’ Karin Hoffman Makes a Cancerous Political Attack

August 18, 2010 Florida Review 18 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

Election-year campaigns tend to get pretty nasty when it comes to personal attacks, but when candidates and/or the organizations who’ve endorsed or support a candidate attack their opponents on their behalf using their past or present health issues, most sober minded people would agree is a tactic that is beyond the pale and downright shameful.  A couple of days ago, Karin Hoffman from the DC Works for Us, an activist group based in Broward County, posted a very questionable statement on the Facebook wall of Robert Lowry, who is running for Congress in FL CD 20.   Lowry himself has been in the news as of late with a pleathora of missteps and gaffes of his own. (Read more on Lowry here: FEC violations, Herpes, lawsuit and DWS shooting) … Continue Reading

Crist Addresses Construction of NYC Mega-Mosque (VIDEO)

August 18, 2010 Florida Review 14 Comments

by  Javier Manjarres

Is Charlie Crist hedging on his original support of the controversial mosque that is proposed to be built on the site of the 9/11 World Trade Center terrorist attack? President Obama, who originally came out in support of the construction of the mosque, is now back-peddling, and now it appears that Governor Crist is doing the same. Crist, was raised Greek Orthodox, and one would think he would be fully in support of the restoration of the Greek Orthodox Church that was destroyed 9/11, and his refusal to answer that question is quite telling. How can one not believe that he is more willing to accommodate Muslims who seek to build a brand new mega-mosque than those who seek to simply seek to  restore the original St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church?

August 18, 2010 Florida Review 8 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

Governor Charlie Crist stopped in Coconut Creek Florida to address the residents of the Wynmor Retirement community in hopes to convince them to vote for  him, in November’s U.S. Senate race.  The Wynmor community is widely considered to be a Democrat stronghold, and Crist’s visit today was strategic in trying to pick off a few of these Democrat voters. During the Q & A with reporters, Governor Crist was asked about the campaign money he returned to his buddy, disgraced RPOF Chairman Jim Greer. Greer, as we all know, has been arrested for corruption and faces 6 felony counts. Have your say, leave a comment! … Continue Reading

Does McCollum Carry Any Responsibility for Chairman ‘Bozo’ Jim Greer?

August 17, 2010 Florida Review 1 Comment

by Javier Manjarres

One of the major unresolved issues in this gubernatorial campaign that many people across the state continue to speculate about is the  extent of Attorney General Bill McCollum’s relationship with former RPOF Chair Jim Greer, and what, if any, was the exact involvement or knowledge that McCollum had about Jim Greer’s possible criminal activities.  Much like Rick Scott’s HCA/fraud issue, these are the two major questions surrounding their candidacies that Republicans are still wrestling with. … Continue Reading

Jeb Bush Jumps Into the Shark Tank- Endorses Rubio Education Plan (VIDEO)

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush stood by Marco Rubio as Rubio pointed out his 12 education platform ideas-Governor Bush has openly endorsed his protege Marco Rubio in the U.S. Senate race and will continue to promote his candidacy.  Bush has long been a champion for better education in Florida, and due to policies he had implemented during his term as Governor, Florida is now ranked 8th in the country.  Bush thinks that many of Rubio’s ideas to promote school choice are ‘fantastic’. I caught up with the good governor as he exited stage left after the Rubio event-literally. .

Rick Scott Visits Gunshow after ‘A’ Rating from the NRA (VIDEO)

August 15, 2010 Florida Review 11 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

Republican Gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott attended the Suncoast Gun Show in Fort Lauderdale this weekend to meet and greet with supporters as well as with the gun & ammo dealers in attendance. The NRA gave Rick Scott an ‘A’ rating, where as they gave his opponent in the primary race, Bill McCollum a ‘B’.  Both candidates received these good ratings but, and ‘A’ is an ‘A’ (see the grades here-NRA Grades).  This gubernatorial race is by far one of the most, if not the most contentious primary in the country.  Both sides have taken shots at each other and each side has boasted about their recent gains in conflicting opinion polls.  The last poll conducted was released this past Friday, and showed Scott up by 10 points. Here’s a roundup of the polls written by our friends at Politics Daily.
