Alex Sink’s Sellout to Ponzi Schemer Rothstein

September 3, 2010 Florida Review 8 Comments

As the Florida electorate begins to focus on the November general election, there is no doubt that the political skeletons of a few candidates will start to creep out of their closets. Democrat Gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink is one of the candidates that may want to put a couple of dead-bolt locks on her closet door. Early in 2009, Sink courted famed Ponzi-schemeing jailbird Scott Rothstein with phone calls and personal meetings to get him to jump on board her campaign to become Florida’s next governor. Rothstein and his partners donated thousands of dollars to Alex Sink, along with the $200,000 he donated to the Florida Democrat Party. … Continue Reading

Rick Scott’s Brilliant Pick for LG- State Rep. Jennifer Carroll

September 2, 2010 Florida Review 8 Comments

Before Rick Scott picked Representative Jennifer Carroll as his running mate for Lieutenant Governor, many politicos and pundits, including yours truly, El Sharko, were speculating that the pick would be someone of Hispanic descent and come from  Miami-Dade County.

Scott’s selection of Representative Carroll may come as a bit of a surprise, but it is a fantastic pick.  Over the course of her legislative career, Carroll has proven herself to be nothing less than a solid conservative in the State House, and her voting record demonstrates that clearly. … Continue Reading

Rick Scott Vows to Help all GOP Candidates Statewide (VIDEO)

September 1, 2010 Florida Review 8 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

GOP Gubernatorial nominee Rick Scott is vowing to unify the state Republican Party as well as lean on them to support all Republican candidates running in both Congressional and  State races. The state GOP has long been accused of meddling in contested Republican primaries, as well as not supporting all Republican candidates. In the 2008 election cycle, I, as well as many other well connected people were told that RPOF resources would only be expended on ‘races that the party thought were winnable’. So what the party was telling us back in 2008 was that a candidate the caliber of Allen West was not a “viable candidate” and the it RPOF was the final judge as to would win or lose any race.   Fast forward 2 years-  and the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) is broke, but Scott’s vow to help all candidates is good news for all candidates statewide.  Is it fair to assume that Rick Scott is now holding the purse strings at the RPOF? … Continue Reading

Republican Governor’s Association To Commit Millions to Scott Race

August 31, 2010 Florida Review 3 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

In a press conference Tuesday, Mississippi Governor and Head Honcho of the Republican Governor’s Association(RGA) told reporters that the RGA would be playing a large role in the upcoming Gubernatorial race in Florida. Barbour said that the RGA would  be committing millions, not hundreds of thousands to keep the Governor’s mansion in Tallahassee in GOP hands. … Continue Reading

Rick Scott Predicts Big Victory (VIDEO)

August 31, 2010 Florida Review 1 Comment

by Javier Manjarres

Appearing at a press conference in Sweetwater, FL along with Governor Haley Barbour of Mississippi, Republican Gubernatorial nominee Rick Scott predicted that his ideas for creating jobs were ideas that most Floridians will support, and he predicted a big victory for himself in November. Scott addressed the crowd of over 250 and stood side-by-side with his primary opponent’s supporters- a strong show of solidarity within the GOP.  Scott did not comment when asked who he would pick as his running mate for Lieutenant Governor as he faces a general election matchup against Alex Sink and the rest of the Obama Administration.  One rumor that is swirling around Miami-Dade County is that outgoing State Senator Rudy Garcia … Continue Reading

Nationally renowned know-it-all and political strategist extraordinaire Roger Stone took some time off form his busy Saturday to jump into the Shark Tank for a brief Q&A session with yours truly, El Sharko. I met up with Roger on Miami Beach and in typical Stone fashion, Roger walked up to our not-so-secret location wearing his trademark sunglasses and plaid shorts, a very relaxed look for Stoney. … Continue Reading

David Rivera Chimes in On Support for Rick Scott and GOP Unity(VIDEO)

August 29, 2010 Florida Review 3 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

Miami GOP Party boss and Congressional nominee in FL CD-25 David Rivera has taken the lead in supporting Rick Scott for Governor and helping to heal Republican wounds from last week’s statewide primary bloodbath. Rivera is coming off a landslide victory in his own primary race, and is poised to take on Democrat Joe Garcia.  Garcia had previously run for Congress in 2008 where he lost to Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart, and he is a staunch supporter of President Obama’s socialist agenda.  Rivera is known for his hard-nosed political style as well as for his uncanny ability to raise money and reach out to voters. … Continue Reading

Crist on Palin Being President -”The Only One With Executive Experience”

August 29, 2010 Florida Review 6 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

During the 2008 Presidential campaign, Governor Charlie Crist defended Governor Sarah Palin against naysayers who expressed doubts as to Palin’s ability to lead were something were to happen to a President John McCain, stating that Palin was the only one with executive experience and that “she is ready”. … Continue Reading

Charlie Crist- “You’re Almost Like a Traitor to Them”(VIDEO)

August 29, 2010 Florida Review 8 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

Governor Charlie Crist attended the opening of this Fort Lauderdale Senatorial Campaign office today where he was greeted by 60+ supporters from both the Democrat and Republican parties. In attendance was Broward Sheriff Al Lamberti, Parkland Mayor Michael Udine, Representive Ari Porth (D) a couple of Broward Republican Executive Commitee(BREC) members, as well as several  local business owners like the owner of Wings Plus in Coral Springs, Florida. The Governor’s speech was short and to the point. The Governor asked for everyone to get involved in his campaign by taking bumperstickers and yard signs- Crist has long said that each bumpersticker represents 7 votes. Crist is currently trailing Republican Marco Rubio by 10 points in the most recent Rasmussen public opinion poll. … Continue Reading

Florida GOP’s Call for Unity Could Fall on Some Deaf Ears

August 29, 2010 Florida Review 4 Comments

by Javier Manjarres

After handing a devastating defeat to the Florida GOP Establishment, the State GOP almost immediately called for “unity” with conservative outsider and businessman Rick Scott.  Those same politicos who were adamantly hoping for Scott’s demise had not even finished their first serving of ‘baked crow’ before looking to make amends with Scott and offer their support to this candidacy, but such is politics.  As we reported a few days ago, RPOF Chairman Thrasher visited Scott and several other McCollum supporters, including Adam Hasner, Mike Haridopolous and Dean Cannon, who all  extended their warm congratulations and support to the winner.  The RPOF, as well as all down the ballot Republican candidates will need Scott’s help because of the fact that the state party is near broke and will not be able to offer the usual support  to both state and federal candidates without a little ‘help’ from Mr. Scott. … Continue Reading
